Zack started a racing life before he started racing at the Southern Iowa Speedway. In 1999 Zack started go-kart racing. He raced many times in Newton, IA as well as traveling down to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In the year of 2000 Zack took a step up in the racing world. Zack and his dad started up the Pro-line Racing Team of stock cars. He became a team mate to the 17P Brad Pinkerton. Today, they still make great team mates. Zack stays busy though, in 2003 he started to race modifieds. Now he races on the USMTS Modified Touring Series.
