8,000 To Win Race

Needless to say the weather here is much better than what we left in Iowa. Practice went well Thursday night. Friday night was the first night of qualifying and it didn't go so well. The track was very heavy and there wasn't any passing. It was still really muddy for the B main which Zack was in, and during the B Main mud knocked a plug wire off. Saturday night went alot better. The track was dry slick so the better drivers did well. Zack moved up in his heat and then won the B Main by about a half of a track. Zack started 13th in the A Main and with 2) Laps to go he passed Ron Jones for 5th locking him in to Sunday 's A Main. Zack had a great start in the A Main on Sunday moving up 3 spots in the first couple of laps. The track locked down early so it turned into a 1) lane rubber down track. Zack finished 9th. It was a really good start fro 2008 season. All the USMTS guys finished in the top 10. Hughes finshed 4th, Weder 5th, Shryock 6th, Krohn 8th, and us 9th. The weather has been great so far. We are wearing shorts and t-shirts during the day and slipping on sweatshirts for the evenings. Not to rub it in or anything! :) So now we are headed to El paso for the next race.

Sun City Modified Classic (show results)

5,000 To Win Race

El Paso is a fun track. Friday night we practiced a little bit. On Saturday we had a good heat race finishing 2nd. Zack started 7th in the A Main and had a nice top 5) finish which qualifyed him to redraw for the Big show on Sunday. Zack redrew 9th (of course) and it was a typical afternoon race rubbered down and one lane. Zack's car was off a little also so he chose to pull in. It was a decent choice on his part! Jason Krohn drew #1 and led 39 3/4 laps when his right rear went down coming out of 4 on the last lap. He ended up getting 5th and kelly who was running 4th ended up 2nd. We plan to enjoy the weather until this weekend at Las Cruces $10,000 to win race!

On Friday night Zack started 8th in his heat race and finished 8th. There wasn't any passing that night so drawing a low number was key and of course Zack didn't! He started 11th in the last chance qualifier which had quite a few wrecks that he thankfully missed but he got tired of it so he pulled off.

Saturday night he had a pretty good heat race running 3rd. He started 6th in the B Main and finished 3rd. He Passed a few cars in the A Main but not quite enough to get in the top 5 for the Sunday Big Show.

Sunday started off well. Zack won one of the last chance qualifiers, then turned around and also won the C main. He made it up to 8th in the B Main, which put him in the 10,000 to win show. He started 18th and fell back to 21st then got himself back up to 16th. The A main went all 50 laps green. Zack did really well today he ran a total of 105 green flag laps in just one day! We are staying in Las Cruces at Royal Jones Place to work on the car a little bit, then we plan to head back toward home. We will stop in Kansas for the Humboldt and Mayetta USMTS Season Openers.

With expectations of bad weather it turned out to be a nice day and race night. The track was awesome and the crowd was big. There were a total of 48 modifieds there so we had a great turn out. Zack started 2nd row inside of his heat race and made a pass on Al Hejna for 2nd. Zack was noticeable faster. Mike Soreneson (the leader) checked up in the middle of 3 & 4 and Zack turned him. They both were sent to the tail of the heat race. He started 11th in the B Main and after a hard race he got to 5th and into the A Main. The A Main was very eventful. Zack started 21st and was working on the 14th spot when he got caught up in a 4 car wreck in turn 2. He got sent to the back again. His car was really good and fast and he started working his way through the pack again and got all the way up to 7th and was running down the guys up front. We were really happy with the finish and the car just needed a little sheet metal work!

Today the weather was bad. It even snowed before hot laps got started. While we were warming up the car it died. We then discovered it had no fuel pressure. Zack checked the fuel filter, lines, etc. He changed the fuel pump and still no pressure. He checked the drive on power steering pump and the shaft was sheered. He changed that out and the problem was solved. He made the hot lap session and found that the track was not in too good of shape. Zack ran 4th in the heat race and 3rd in the B Main. He started 22nd in the A and just kind of laid back for a while until all the wrecks were over (and let us tell you there were some bad ones) A lot of good equipment got tore up. There were 2) 4 car pile ups. Zack made a nice run at the end to finish 11th. We brought the car home in one piece. We have been gone now for nearly 4 weeks and we are finally back home and it feels great!

This was a really great weekend for the 33z team! Our favorite number (33) came in to play all weekend. Friday night Zack's heat was good coming from 6th to 3rd. There was alot of passing so he was just short of getting enough points to qualify for the A main. He started on the pole of the B Main and won it. He started 14th and made his way fast up towards the front. Zack raced really hard and finished 3rd, almost got 2nd but got beat by a bumper by Brad Waits. The car was good enough if would would have ran about 3 more laps he might have got the win.

Saturday Night Zack's heat looked like a trophey dash. It included Bob Timm & Scott Green on the front row. Kelly Shryock and Steve Kosiski in row 2, Zack and Jason Krohn in row 3, Corey Dripps and Jeff Schluetter in row 4, and Jon Tesch in row 5. Zack and his car were really good and finished 2nd in the heat race giving him 59.5 points and qualified him for 8th in the redraw for the A Main. Zack got #8 which was all that was left. He had a great start and was running 4th by the 1st yellow. He fought for the front the entire race and again about got Brad Waits for 2nd. He got another 3rd place finish. We got 2) 3rd Place which makes our 33. Friday Night Zack got his 2nd hard charger for the year out of 3 races and also moved up to 2nd in Great Plains Region points. We will get to see lots of family and friends next week for the 3 day swing in Missouri. Thanks again for following us!

Zack had a strong heat race and got the win. The A Main didn't go as good as we hoped. He started off 9th but the car set up was a little off, plus on one of the restarts he got pushed into the in field but he finished 14th so still a strong finish.

Zack was again really strong in his heat race. He started 4th and won the heat race by a good margin. He was first in passing points and drew 4th for the feature. The track was really heavy and there were lots of wrecks and guys driving a little crazy. He had to lift quite a few times but ended up finishing 11th. We should bounce back in this region as traveling to West Siloam, Oklahoma this next weekend.

Zack had a really tough heat race Friday night. The track was almost impossible to pass and we had to start on the tail of the heat race, he did end up 6th. The B main was good he started 6th and was running down the leader Johnny Bone Jr. with 3-4 laps to go. He had a yellow ending his momentum and ended up 3rd in the B. Zack was on the move however in the A main heading for a top 5 finish but got caught up in a wreck and came in with a right rear flat. He still came up to 12th from the tail though!

Saturday continued with the bad luck. He won his heat race pulling away. He redrew 7 for the feature. He was headed up to the top 5 again running 6th but Kelly & Weder got together right in front of Zack and collected him in the process sending him in with a right rear flat once again. The track was rubbered down by then and it was one line. We finished 19th.

Saturday night the 19th got rained out, so it became a 1) Day show on the 20th.

Kasson got lots and lots of rain, so the track officials spent all day getting the pits ready for the haulers to get in. Due to that it caused a delay in getting the track ready. There was about a 2 hour delay so we didn't get started until 8:00. Zack had a good heat race with a 2nd place finish. He started 6th in the A Main and had to restart on the top twice and slipped back to 9th. He made a couple more passes and finished 7th. We left just after midnight and got home about 5:00 am, so it was kind of a tough weekend. We are going to take some time off now and will be going to Zack's sister's Breast Cancer fundraiser next weekend. We plan to be in Memphis, Missouri on May 3rd!

Moe's Breast Cancer Fund Raiser - Click Show Results

Instead of racing this weekend we will be attending a fundraiser for Zack's Sister, Moe, from Hannibal. She has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer this year and is undergoing Chemotherapy at the moment. We will be traveling to Hannibal, MO for her fund raiser given by family and friends. Please keep thoughts and prayers with her and her family in this time of need. She has been a trooper through this whole thing. She has great faith in recovery. Hopefully the fund raiser will be a hit for her.

USRA Season Opener

This was the season opener and it went pretty good. We ran the old stockcar again. It was a fun race with some 3) wide racing in the feature. Zack was trying to move from 3rd to 2nd which resulted in a 4th place finish, but Zack said he still had alot of fun driving and I am sure it was fun for the fans as well. We got the 2008 Modified out for it's shake down run. He won the heat race and redrew 11 for the A Main. By the time Zack got to 2nd, Ryan Gustin was way out front. The yellow flew and gave us a shot for the win. Ryan stayed fast and Zack's car tightened up and had nothing for him. There was a good car count with like 20 modifieds and there were lots of fans watching tonight.

We headed up for a 3) race tune up for the USMTS tour next week. We had a nice 2nd place run in the heat race. We redrew 8th for the A Main. He got to 2nd with about 5 laps to go. Kevin Pittman was a straight away ahead by then. Zack got within a few car lengths but ran out of laps. Zack was obviously faster and either needed a few more laps of a yellow. But 2nd is a great run.

Zack was trying some new things out in the modified and we didn't get any hot laps, so we didn't really go anywhere in the heat race. We ran 2nd in the B Main and started 22nd in the B Main. There was a rain delay after 5) laps, we restarted 24th and worked up to 13th but was running quicker lap times then the leaders, so hopefully we have it figured out for next weekend.

We ran a real strong heat race in the modified. We won the heat race and redrew 4th for the A Main. There was lots of 2-3 wide racing in the feature. Zack was running the bottom and everyone else was on the top (of course) and the faster lane was on top it was a one line track. Finally he worked his way up through the traffic driving hard into turn one and make the final pass for the lead with 3 laps to go. He went to the top then and stretched the lead out by a whole straight away, for the first Modified win for 2008!!!! We learned a lot about our new set up as Oskaloosa, Cresco, Deer Creek, and Kasson. Hope it shows up in the results next week. Thanks again to all our sponsors and fans. We finally are getting caught up on the results. Zack won his heat race in the stockcar and started 6th in the A Main. He got to the front and pulled away. It was his first stockcar win in 2008. The modified was a USMTS show. Zack had a great heat race going from 7th to 1st. He was the top point qualifier and then redrew the pole. We were pretty fortunate to stay in the top 5. The car was popping and missing most of the race. We found a broken spark plug on cylinder #3. That's racing I guess! We still came home with 5th though!

Zack had a great heat race starting 3rd and winning it. He had another good feature, starting 3rd but the car was a little too tight and fell back to 6th. But still an overall good night.

We had no luck moving up in the heat race, there was a lot of really good cars in it, we finished 6th. The B-Main was good though racing side by side with Jason Krohn and finishing 3rd. We started 18th in the A and put together a good run in the last 20 laps of a 40 lap feature. We came home with our 2nd 5th place finish in 3 days.

Zack has been on fire as we had another great heat race. He started 5th and won the heat race. The A main was good also. He started 6th and slid back to 8th and then started back thru passing some top cars and finishing 5th again for our 3rd 5th place finish in 4 days.

Zack once again ran another strong heat race going from 6th to 2nd. He also redrew #1 for the 2nd time this week. The law of averages does come true. In the last 4 years he only had 2 other poles of the A features. We doubled that amount this week. Zack did some really good racing on the bottom and the rest of the cars were on the top. It was a good race for the top 3 until about 10/12 laps to go. The top got better and better and a couple of guys got by Zack until he moved up in the top line and got our 4th - 5th place finish in 5 days.

Well all we can say is what a track!! The cars were plowing dirt and it was so dusty you could not see any of the cars in the heat races. They worked the track a little to control the Dust so the B main wasn't bad, Zack finished 2nd in it. The A Main was dusty and dangerour again. Zack ran around the back until some broke and wrecked out. He finished 13th and safe and our car was in one piece which is more than others that raced can say. Some effort needs to be made to improve the conditions at this track to justify 2) Hunt races there.

We started 10th in the Stockcar feature. Zack was very patient and moved thru traffic. He had 2 yellows that really helped him out. He restarted 7th after the 1st yellow and 3rd after the 2nd yellow. With about 5 to go he got to the front and got another stockcar win.

Zack won his modified heat race and started 3rd in the A Main. He got to the lead quick and held off Colt Mathers & Ron VerBeek who were running the same times for the win. Overall we had a GREAT 8 day span. We ran 7 of those with the modfied and 2 with the stockcar. We had several heat race wins, lots of top 5's and some feature wins as well.

We are off to Ilinois this weekend and the Iowa State Fairgrounds for Monday. Zack's first appearance with the Casey's Cheetos car will be in Pleasant Hill Monday afternoon and he will be racing the car that night. Also there to race will be Kenny Wallace and Kenny Schrader. USMTS has Casey's Cheetos shirts and we have our new black and pink 33z shirts available as well, so come see us!! Hope to see ya there!

Zack has really been on a roll lately. There were only 22 cars tonight but still quite a few tough competitors. We started 5th in the heat race and only got to 4th but still got in the A Main without having to run a B Main. We qualified 11th so we started on the bottom and Zack ran there pretty much the whole time passing several cars. We got up to 5th and there was a caution which put us to the outside. Zack drove really hard through 1 and 2 and passed Rameriez for the 4th spot. Another caution came out and and we were to start 4th on the bottom, but a storm came in and rained us out with 5 to go. So we finished 4th from 11th. Still a really Great Night!

Well we aren't a big fan of the facilities here but the track seems pretty racey! We started 7th in our heat race and finished 4th which qualified us for the 9th spot in the A Main. That again would put us on the bottom (Zack's favorite line). Even though Zack started 9th he quickly passed several cars as he moved to the front. On lap 16 Zack made his way up to 2nd challenging local leader Marty Thompson on the low side. While he was trying to pass him Kelly passed them both on the top side taking the lead and putting Zack in 3rd. Kelly had started to pull away while Zack was trying to pass Thompson but after he finally got him he started to close the gap on Kelly. On lap 29 Zack got under Kelly and took the lead and paced the final 11 laps and won with a pretty good distance on Kelly. Zack got his first USMTS Win of the season. Hopefully it's one of many.

Tonight was a good night. The track was pretty heavy on the top side and also due to the rain amounts we have gotten the past couple weeks. We started 10th in the Stockcar A Main since we won last week, there was quite a few lead changes and cautions which helped us move up in the field and finished 3rd! So good run in the stockcar.

We started 6th in the modified and due to a bad start from the car in front of us we immediately fell to the tail of the field. By then Brad Pinkerton and Ron VerBeek had already checked out. We did get a caution with about 3 to go and we ended up 2nd so a good run in the modified as well! We are headed for Britt, IA next tuesday to start our swing of racing 16 out of 19 nights in June. Wish us luck!

Well the night started out good. Zack went from 5th to 2nd in the heat race. In the feature he was running great and got to 2nd and was chasing down Kelly Shryock for the lead and we broke an axel. It's a shame that we never have very good luck at this track with it being so close to home and everything but the track conditions are just never what they should be when we get to Des Moines. We started 10th in the heat race and finished 6th. We ran the B Main and finished 3rd in it to start us 18th in the A Main. There really wasn't any passing in the A Main which is usual there and we finished 14th. An okay night but kinda bummed with it being the first night on the Cheetos car!

Well we made up tonight for what happened last night. Zack started 5th in his heat race and finished 2nd. He drew the pole for the feature and for the first 15 laps raced side by side with Dean Mulsteadt. They got into lap traffic and Zack made a three wide move which got him the lead and got him the VICTORY!! This is NUMBER 2 for us this year and he drove his butt off to get this win. We are very proud of him and the Cheesy Chester Cheetah looked great in Victory Lane!!! I think they stated that the fans were seeing SPOTS!!!!

Well we had another great run tonight, we almost got two wins in a row. He started 8th in the heat race and finished 2nd. He led most of the feature until Jason Hughes got around us and took off, but towards the end Zack came on strong and finished 2nd to Hughes by a bumper, many say that one more lap and he would have had 2 wins in a row, oh well they raced clean and it was alot of fun to watch, it's always okay to finish 2nd to Jason Hughes.

Tonight was a pretty good night. We started 7th in the heat race and finished 4th. He qualified 12th for the A Main and got all the way up to finish 5th for another top 5 this season. Great night all in all!! This was also the weekend Zack and Carrie Announced that they are going to have a baby!!! All of our family is very excited!!!

Well tonight was kinda a good a bad night. Zack went from 2nd to winning his heat race. He was racing for the lead and had it when a rock came up and put a hole in his radiator. I believe this is the 2nd time we could have won but fluke things like this happened. Oh well, like we say these things do happen! We are happy though that Zack was fast and the car ran great!! We will get it next time!

Tonight was an okay night for the 33z machine. We got 4th in the heat race and had to run a B Main which we won by a long stretch. He started 13th and finished 11th, so the track and car were okay but just an off night!!

Tonight started off kinda slow with finishing 7th in the heat race a having to run a B Main. He finished 4th in the B Main so we were starting 19th on a small little bowl ring of a track! Zack did an excellent job of getting through traffic and pulled off another Top 10 finishing 8th from 19th. He did a great job and we were very happy with the outcome of tonight!!

Well tonight was good as well. We won our heat race against hometown driver Jon Tesch, so we were pretty happy about that!! We started 6th in the feature and got another Top 5 finishing 5th in the race. Great night, Zack and the car worked really well together and got another strong finish!!!

Well tonight was a decent night but the track was not very favorable. We went from 8th to 4th in the heat race qualifying 9th for the A Main. The track was very 1 lane on the bottom so there was not a whole lot of passing, although Zack did do some passing on the bottom and was up to 4th when a caution came out and we unfortunately got misscored and got put in 5th which put us on the top. Well you can pretty much guess what happened then, we got freightrained by the cars on the bottom and luckily got 9th. Kinda dissapointed becuase Zack had a great car but it must have not been meant to be!! Oh well better luck next time. We still got another top 10 though!!!

Well tonight turned out pretty good for the Modified. We won our heat race and started 6th in the feature finishing 2nd! In the Stockcar we got wrecked in our heat race and had to run a B Main. He finished 3rd in the B putting him at the back of the A, he was running 12th when he pulled in due to a broken gear.

We were fortunate to have a good race draw. He started outside front row of heat and got a good start. He won the heat and redrew 4th for the A Scramble. He got a nice run and finished 2nd qualifying him for the 2nd row inside for the Big Show on Saturday night. The track was very overwatered both nights and all the cars were used as track packers. They started late both nights. The track was still wet and heavy for the feature Saturday night. We held our spot and finished 3rd. Track position and luck of the draw was definately a factor. There were lots of good cars that never even got into the A Main. I don't know if we will go back again next year unless changes are made. But the weather was great for both days!!

Rescheduled Stockcar Shootout

Well tonight turned out alright. We started the modified feature in the 4th position and on the start got into another car and fell back to like 9th and came all the way back up to 2nd so a good run in the modified. In the stockcar we struggled in our heat race but still made the A Main, however, having to start 18th. He did an awesome job of getting through the traffic and got all the way up to 3rd when the caution came out. We were mis scored and had to start 5th so we ended up 4th but still an awesome run for the stockcar.

The night was half good and half not good. The stockcar did not do so well as the track was heavy and our car isn't usually that great on the heavy tracks. We ended up 6th in the feature. The modified was great! We raced the cheetos car and won our heat race by a straight away and then turned around and won the feature by a straight away! Good night for the modified. We are taking the weekend off to get ready for lots and lots of racing coming up!!

Tonight was a good night. We had to start in the back of the heat and finished 5th. We had to run a B Main and finished 2nd. He started 15th in the feature and finished 6th so overall a great night!!!

Zack started 4th in his heat race and finished 3rd which put him 10th for the feature. He ran a great race and got all the way up to 4th for the finish. Zack has been doing extremely well and we hope he can continue his streak.

Zack likes this track quite a bit. This track only has 3 turns instead of 4. He started 3rd in his heat race and finished 1st. That qualified him for the redraw and he drew number 1. He ran a really good race but ended up finishing 2nd so another good night for the 33z. This ended the Upper Midwest Region and Zack finished 2nd in this region and 2nd in the Great Plains Region as well.

Zack had another great night. He started 4th in his heat race and finished 3rd. That qualified him for starting 12th in the feature. He had a really good car and got all the way up to 2nd trying to chase down Jason Krohn but couldn't quite get it done. So another good night for the 33z.

The night started out kind of slow. He finished 6th in the heat race. So he had to run a B Main and got 2nd in that which started him 15th for the feature. His car was okay not great but able to get up to 6th. So a decent finish tonight.

Zack didnt quite have that great of a night. He started 8th in the heat race and got hit by a mud clump that cut his window net and hit him in the helmet. He ended up finishing 7th but had to run a B Main and finished 2nd in that. He started 15th in the feature and never could get it going really good and ended up 13th.

Tonight was very exciting. Zack started 8th in his heat race and finished 5th which started him 12th for the feature. You could tell right away that his car was awesome as he kept moving forward every corner. He got himself up to 2nd and was closing in on Jon Tesch for the win when the caution came out. They restarted and Zack was running the low bottom and Jon was running the wall. They were about dead even going around the track. On the last lap Zack came out of 4 in the lead but then Jon came off the top and got side by side and you'll never believe this but........ THEY TIED!! The USMTS had 4 scorers and two of them scored Jon with the win and two of them scored Zack with the win. So they split the win, points, money and all. What an exciting night but we still got the win!!!!

Zack had another great night again!!! He finished 4th in the heat race and had to run a B main. He finished 2nd in the B Main making him start 16th for the feature. Again this was another night that you could tell he was going to the front. He got up to 2nd and was running the wall to get there!!! (he never does this!!!) But got the caution but just didn't have enough for the 12B of Johnny Bone. But another great finish for the 33z!!!

Not much to say about tonight. It was one of those nights you would just like to forget. The track was terrible heavy and rough and there was hardly any passing, we had to take a provisional to get into the A Main and pulled off because he wasn't going anywhere. Oh well we will get our groove back!!

Tonight was the first night of the hunt so all nerves were up!! Zack ran a good heat race going from 8th to 4th but missed the A Main by 2 spots so he had to run a B Main. He did very well in that winning it and pulling away, which started him 13th for the A Main. Zack's car was really good and he looked great running the bottom, he got all the way up to 4th very early, which was a good thing since they started single file for the rest of the race due to one lane track. So great night and a good way to start off the hunt!!

Well this was quite an experience tonight. This track is a big 1/2 mile and likes to eat up cars if you know what i mean!! Zack had to start at the end of his heat race and passed a couple cars but not enough, he got 2nd i the B Main which qualified him to start 16th for the A Main. The track was so hard on motors that they only went 20 laps, and believe 8 cars did not finish due to motors breaking, so you can about imagine. Zack got a flat so had to go to the tail and still ended up getting a top 10 finishing 10th. Our car was in one piece and so was our motor so we were really happy with the way it turned out!!

Tonight was another good night for us. We went from 4th to 2nd in the heat race which put us in the redraw. He redrew 3 for the feature. His car was not very good at all losing spots right off the bat. But he gathered it up and passed some cars back and ended up 4th, we had the lead in the hunt until tonight when Kelly Shryock passed us but we are only still trailing by 5 points so that is very close!!

Well tonight didn't start off very good. The track was so bad when we arrived that the drivers got together and said they weren't racing until it was fixed, so needless to say they worked on the track and the heat races didn't start until 10:00pm. The track was still not very good however. We did okay in the heat race but had to run a B Main and got 2nd in that. So he started 16th in the feature, and kind of had a plan to lag back a little bit to avoid cautions. Well its a good thing that he did there were several that tore up alot of good cars pretty bad. There were actually 13 that did not finish the race due to being torn up in the cautions. Zack finished 9th but took back the lead for the hunt so all turned out okay and our car is in one piece so we are thankful for that!!

Well tonight was a great night to end the swing with!!! Zack went from 5th to 3rd which qualified him for the redraw. We redrew 7 for the feature. The race was super exciting but Zack out dueled Kelly Shryock for the win!! Donlinger started the race off with the lead by Kelly grabbed the lead by lap 2 and led all the way to lap 11 when Zack took the lead and led until lap 20 when they got into lap traffic and kelly got back around Zack and took the lead for about 6 laps when Zack manuvered himself around Kelly and led the rest of the race for the win. The whole race when green, white, checkered. But what a great way to end the swing and we also extended our lead in the hunt by 27 over Jon Tesch in 2nd.

We didn't race the stockcar but we did take the modified tonight. Our night didn't start out very good as in the heat race Zack started on the pole and broke a motor. The whole crew rushed to get another on put back in and they did just in time to make the feature. He had to start at the tail but his car was very very good and he was in 3rd place by lap 8. Ron VerBeek & Brad Pinkerton were way out front and Zack had a little catching up to do. He was catching them but not fast enough until there was a caution on lap 14. Brad was in the 2nd spot and picked the top side so Zack started on the bottom where he had been running the whole race. He got a great start and by lap 16 he was in the lead. He pulled away a little bit to win the race. So it was a great night for the 33z and Zack's Birthday is tomorrow the 21st so it was kinda cool to see him win for his birthday. We also had lots of family and friends (J.J. Pyle & Friend) from out of town there to see him win so we thank all of them for coming.

Well when we got to the track we knew it could be a rough night because the track wasn't in very good conditions. We had to run a B Main in which he got 3rd in that to Start 17th for the feature. There wasn't a whole lot of passing and we finished 13th.

Tonight went better. We started 2nd in our heat race and won that. We were in the redraw and drew 3rd but the track wasn't that great for passing and Zack's car wasn't the best it could be either. We finished 6th but still a good finish for the USMTS tour!

Well we had a good night considering it was Deer Creek and our luck there never seems to be what it should. We started 7th in the heat race and finished 5th. We had to run a B Main in which he got 2nd. He started 15th since one of the cars dropped out for the feature. We went to the back running 20th when there was a big wreck on the front stretch taking out several good cars, luckily Zack missed this (I don't know how though). So that got him back up to the 15th starting spot again and for some reason he and the car found the top line (which he never runs!!!) and they went to the front. He was super fast getting up to 4th and then 3rd is where he finished. BUT!! Alan Mondus the feature winner weighed light on the scales so we got the 2nd place finish!! Great night for the 33z Team!

Thursday Night - The night didn't go so great and all i can say is we ended up 25th. But that is still good considering there were 112 modifieds total tonight.

Friday Night - Tonight was a much better night. He started 13th in the Heat and got 3rd which put us in the redraw for the top 12 spots. We redrew 2 and Zack led all 35 laps of the A Feature for his first USMTS FALL JAMBOREE Feature win for $4000.00. It was super exciting because Jason Hughes was on his tail towards the end of the race, but Zack did a great job of keeping the car straight and not messing up! He also recieved a trophy that is about 5 foot tall!!

Saturday Night - Tonight ended up really good. Zack got 5th in his heat race so he had to run a B Main. He won it but it still started him 21st for the feature. He did such a great job avoiding wrecks and cautions that he just kept making the car go forward. He ended up 4th for the night which was a great finish to the 2008 Fall Jamboree!!

We were really pleased with the USMTS Season, which is now over. Zack finished 4th in the National Hunt Points due to some bad luck but we are all very proud of him and his very successful season!!!

Well this weekend is always an experience with the amount of cars and the different rules.

Friday Night we started on the front row of the heat race and unfortunately they called Zack for Jumping the start (which clearly he didn't) anyways, they sent him to the tail and that is where he finished. So he had to start on the front row of the C Main and he got 2nd in that which started him towards the tail of the B Main (22nd) and he got up to 6th making it in the feature (they only took top 8). He started 24th and finished 12th. So for a very long Night Zack did a great job!!

Saturday Night - Tonight wasn't as bad. We only had to go through the B Main but we did have to start on the tail of it. He got up to 8th (the last transfer spot) and got into the A Main. He started on the tail again (24th) and got 9th. Zack did really well considering the track conditions. It was very heavy all night, we even had to scrape a bunch of mud off the car after the features were over. But Zack did a good job handling it all and got some good racing in!!

Well it was a long drive down but we were anxious to see the I-30 speedway. There wasn't any water put on the track until after 5:00pm and then they put way too much on it, there was lots of packing and waiting around. The heat races started around 9:00pm - it was muddy and hammer down and not to mention no passing. Zack passed a couple cars but it wasn't enough, he had to run a B Main in which he won. There were 72 to modifieds there tonight and we started 14th in the A Main. Zack had moved up to 5th and was headed to the front but got shuffled back by a lapped car to 10th, and he made it back up to 8th by the end of the race.

Jayhawk $5000 to Win

We had heard there was some rain early Saturday Morning at Little Rock but the forecast wasn't calling for much. By 12:30 the race was cancelled. That began our next 12 hour venture. The $5000 to win Jayhawk at Lakeside Speedway was our target. We left Little Rock at 1:10 and our GPS said we would arrive at 8:04 at Lakeside. We needed to make up some time. We called our friend Tim Karrick (1K) who had raced to the pole position Friday Night for the Saturday Night Race we were headed to. He gave us the phone number of J.D Green (Race Director) to discuss what our options were if we made it there in time. We chose to start on the tail of the last heat race. We ran pretty hard to get there 452 miles in 6 hours & 42 mintues. When we pulled in it was 7:52 and the 5th heat race out of 8 was on the track. We handed the entry fee and pit pass money to them at the gate. They guided us in to a parking spot and to work we went. Zack was already dressed in his racing suit and ready to race. Tim's crew helped us unload and get the car ready. Zack pulled up to the line up area 1 minute before his heat race pulled onto the track. Twelve cars were qualified Friday night so the best we could start was 13th. Zack finished 2nd in t;he heat race which gave him the 9th starting spot for the B main in which he won. That got him into an A Scramble which consisted of all the heat race winners and some B Main qualifiers. He started 9th in the scramble and won that so he started the best possible spot we could, 13th. The A Main was also exciting as Zack started moving forward. By lap 20 he was up to 3rd but a straight away behind. By lap 27 he caught pole sitter Tim Karrick who was running 2nd, coming around for the white flag Zack tried passing Tim on the bottom but Tim blocked pushing Zack down into a big corner tire. He broke the tie rod, and bent a spindle causing the wheel to be turned out 90 degrees plus the tire was flat. He still held on for 3rd. It was an awesome night passing a total of 31 cars for the night. By the time we fixed the car to load and got through tech we left the track at 1:10 Sunday Morning. We headed home happily. USRA Fall Challenge

Even though the Fall Challenge was about a month later the weather was perfect all weekend. There was a total of about 190 cars for the two day special.

Friday Night - The old stockcar had been resting for about 6 weeks or so but was ready to go. He got 5th in the heat race and 1st in the B main, and came from 20th in the A to 8th. Zack got 3rd in the heat race with the modified and 4th in the a.

Saturday Night - He got 1st in his heat race with the stockcar and ran 2nd in the A Main. In the modified he won his heat race and started 12th in the A Main and finished 4th again.

We had a strong weekend. And we will be getting ready to go to the Battle of the Mods at Kentucky Lake October 23-25th!!

Fall Special - $5,000 To Win All Three Nights

Thursday Night we got rained out!! So we rented a car and went to Nashville to spend the evening. We went to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Resort and went to downtown Nashville where we ate at the Hard Rock cafe and walked around so it was a pretty good time!!

Friday night we drew well and started 4th in the heat race. It was based on passing points and Zack won his heat race so he was 7th in the passing points which is where he started in the A Main. He was running 5th for a while and then got passed by Hughes and Cane. Cane then broke and brought out the caution and on the restart Zack got back by Hughes and finished 4th so we had a great night tonight.

Saturday Night didn't go so well. We started 2nd and got 3rd in the heat race and started 7th in the B Main and we finished 3rd but they only took the top 2 cars to the A Main so we watched the A Main with lots of other fellow racers, Shyrock, Hughes, & Dripps.

It was a long drive down there but it turned out to be one of the best performances Zack has had any weekend. Practice night was rained out so the poker games were on. Zack did really good there also!

Thursday Night the track was pretty heavy and rough. He got a pretty good draw and came from 4th to win his heat race. He redrew 5 for the feature and finished 5th. There wasn't much passing due to the track conditions.

Friday night the track was pretty good early. Zack started 6th in his heat race and and won his heat again. He redrew 3 for the feature but the track rubbered up and he finished 3rd. Again there wasn't much passing.

Saturday night the track was perfect and just the way Zack likes it, dry slick and smooth. Zack won his heat again (making that 3 out of 3 heat races won), but since he started on the pole he was just qualified for the A Main having to start 12th. Then the fun began. Zack moved up quick. With 2-3 laps down he was up to 8th. By lap 7 or 8 he was already up to 3rd. Going into lap 10 he was 2nd and passed for the lead only 12 laps into the feature. By lap 24 the yellow flag flew and Zack had already lapped several cars and had a big lead on 2nd. From lap 24 to 40 Zack pulled away again lapping several cars and finished with a big lead. Zack and his car had one of those rare nights that everything was nearly perfect. What a way to end the season.

You know the saying, "You are only good as your last win?" It usually only lasts a few days but this time it will last until Spring of 2009. This win was #6 for the USMTS Season this year. We all can't wait until 2009 to start.

Our next big event will be in February of 2009 when Zack and Carrie's Baby girl is due. We wish everyone a Great Christmas and a safe and wonderful holiday season. Thanks so much to all our sponosors for cheering and following our results. See you all next year!!
